Note to my class....this is a diagnostic review sheet to see what you already know well and what area(s) you may need help with before you take the GED...Do not use a calculator or ask for help...this review sheet should honestly reflect what you know and don't know if I am going to be able to help you pass the math portion of the GED...I am not looking for 100%, so don't worry about how well you are doing on this worksheet...this worksheet needs to be handed in ASAP and we will not immediately go over it in class.

Review of Integers and Order of Operations

Welcome to our summer GED session. I asked two of my cats to put their heads together to help me make this session as productive, and hopefully as fun as possible. As you can see, my cats are brainstorming, but I have a feeling that they are not thinking about math, so I am working hard to put together a curriculum that will not only help my students pass the math portion of the GED but to also gain a solid foundation of math concepts that can be used to start a college program. Understanding concepts in math has a plus side to it...the more you understand concepts, the less you have to memorize.

I have posted the link to the Cobb County School District website where there is a link to the Cobb Adult Ed. website. You can find information about preregistering to take the GED and the dates and times it is offered, as well as what you need to bring with you to sign up to take the GED. The site also has the 2011 -2012 Student Calendar and a link to all the administrator and teacher blogs. You can click on the link to open up the blog. Of course, if you are reading this message, you have obviously figured out how to get here, and you can put it in your 'favorites folder' so you won't have to put in the web address each time. But if you are not on your own computer and have forgotten the address for this blog, you can Google 'Cobb County Schools', find their website and use the link there.
